It’s now been two and a half years since Jon Jones most recently stepped in the cage for a fight. Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) defended the light heavyweight title at UFC 247 in February 2020. Two years ago this month, he vacated that belt and said he was moving to heavyweight to chase a title there. But we’ve hit two years, and we still haven’t seen Jones return, let alone even have a fight announced for his return. We’ve long since past the point of the longest layoff of his career. And to be certain, he’s had some hiccups in that layoff outside the cage with legal issues, as well as a public spat with Dana White and the UFC over his pay
