Jessica Eye badly missed weight in her first fight since competing for a UFC title earlier this year. Eye (14-7 MMA, 4-6 UFC) came in five pounds over the women’s flyweight limit for her scheduled bout against Viviane Araujo (8-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) on Saturday at UFC 245, stepping on the scale at 131 pounds at Friday’s official weigh-in. As a result of the miss, Eye has been fined 30 percent of the show portion of her purse by the Nevada Athletic Commission, which sanctions the UFC 245 card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2 and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ ESPN+ . Araujo has accepted the terms of the fine and agreed to accept the fight, a UFC official told MMA Junkie. Eye has not yet offered an explanation for her weight miss, which is the first of her UFC tenure.
