During a press conference on June 19, Bellator MMA president Scott Coker announced that the fight promotion would host a unique event in San Jose, Calif., on Sept. 19 featuring a light heavyweight title fight; a one-night, four-man tournament; and three Glory kickboxing bouts. “I’m really proud to announce that on Sept. 19 at the SAP Center, we’re going back to San Jose to put on this mega event. The mega event is going to be a three-tier show,” said Coker. The SAP Center will be outfitted with a cage for the MMA fights and a ring for the kickboxing bouts.
