Filed under: Featured , News , UFC The news was made official earlier tonight: Conor McGregor will get a welterweight rematch with Nate Diaz in the UFC 200 main event. But behind the scenes, according to UFC President Dana White, McGregor was just about the only one who wanted that rematch to happen, and wanted it to happen at 170 pounds. He got what he wanted, despite White, UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta, and even his head coach, John Kavanagh, all trying to talk him into defending his featherweight title next – or at the very least, fighting Diaz at lightweight.
