Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson (This story appears in today’s edition of USA TODAY .) For a little while, Daniel Cormier kept it together. After the first and so far only loss of his professional mixed martial arts career, he made it all the way backstage without letting his emotions overwhelm him. Then he broke down. In the age of ubiquitous cell-phone cameras and social media, even that moment was captured and shared with the masses, as Cormier cried in the arms of a teammate just moments after coming up short in his first bid for the UFC light heavyweight title. For the former Olympic wrestler Cormier (16-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC), who faces Alexander Gustafsson (16-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) in a headlining title bout at UFC 192 in Houston on Saturday (10 p.m. ET, pay-per-view), it was a raw moment of disappointment and despair.
