Last time Dan Hardy was on “Fight Island,” he found himself in the middle of the headlines, even though he was only there as a commentator. The former UFC welterweight title challenger ended up mired in controversy with veteran referee Herb Dean after a stop in a July 25 bout between Francisco Trinaldo and Jai Herbert many considered late, one which became the biggest MMA news story coming out of the show. Now Hardy is back in Abu Dhabi in his role is one of the sport’s top-notch color commentators, and he’s had some time to reflect on the controversy. While talking to the media recently, including MMA Junkie, Hardy talked about where things stand with his relationship with Dean, his thoughts on an eventful UFC 253, and a whole lot more.
