Diego Sanchez is clearly pumped up that Conor McGregor has put some steam behind a potential matchup between the two. Sanchez (30-12 MMA, 19-12 UFC), who meets Jake Matthews in a welterweight bout on Saturday at UFC 253, said during his pre-fight interview this week that he has plans to fight four more times in his career before moving on from MMA. “The Ultimate Fighter 1” winner said in his ideal world, a matchup with McGregor (22-4 MMA, 10-2 UFC) would be the perfect farewell fight. After Sanchez’s comments were dismissed as tomfoolery, McGregor made it known that this is no farfetched scenario. “The Notorious” released an Instagram direct message conversation with UFC president Dana White revealing that he had asked for the fight to be made earlier this year.
