Melendez, a onetime UFC lightweight title challenger, understands what’s at play, and he’ll “definitely” watch Saturday’s UFC 205 pay-per-view headliner at Madison Square Garden in New York City. At this moment in UFC history, Melendez told MMAjunkie video partner Champions.co  the promotion is more about “big fights” than respecting ranks, even though he would prefer it to be the opposite. “You believe there’s other people that might deserve it,” said Melendez (22-6 MMA, 1-4 UFC), who’s contemplating a move to featherweight after his three-fight skid.
