Jackson was born in Memphis in 1978, and despite an admittedly rough upbringing, his MMA career ultimately took root with a successful wrestling career at Raleigh-Egypt High School. Bellator officials opted to host its first PPV event tonight in Southaven, which is just a short drive from the fighter’s Memphis home.
