The referee and judging assignments are set for next month’s UFC 178 headliner. Veteran official Herb Dean, who’s overseen some of the sport’s biggest fights in recent years, will ref the headliner between UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson (20-2-1 MMA, 8-1-1 UFC) and challenger Chris Cariaso (17-5 MMA, 6-4 UFC). UFC 178 takes place Sept. 27 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass
