Donald Cerrone ’s fourth victory of 2014 was his most significant thus far as he spoiled Eddie Alvarez ’s highly anticipated octagon debut in the UFC 178 co-main event from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. Cerrone (25-6 MMA, 12-3 UFC) outpointed Alvarez (25-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) over three rounds for a unanimous decision win in the lightweight contender bout to improve his UFC winning streak to five consecutive fights.
