Johnson (21-2-1 MMA, 9-1-1 UFC), the UFC’s flyweight champion, put on what essentially was a perfect performance against Chris Cariaso (17-6 MMA, 6-5 UFC) to defend his belt for the fifth time on Saturday night in the UFC 178 main event. Johnson cruised in the first round, then submitted Cariaso, one of the heaviest underdogs in UFC title fight history, with a second-round kimura.
