Tim Means UFC middleweight Tim Means now has won three consecutive fights in the promotion’s octagon, a far cry from an earlier stint in which he went 2-3 and was released from his contract. “Feels better than losing three in a row, so I can’t complain,” Means (23-6-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) said after his first-round TKO of Dhiego Lima (10-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) on the UFC 184 preliminary-card broadcast on FOX Sports 1. The event took place this past Saturday at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. Means connected early and often with Lima, eventually sending him to the mat with a series of elbows at the 2:17 mark of the first round. Lima, a finalist on “The Ultimate Fighter 19,” dropped to 1-2 since the reality show. Means didn’t have much to say about his plans for the middleweight division – just the fact that he’d stopped his opponent was a promising sign of forward motion, which he believes will bring the matchups to advance his career.
