That wasn’t the case for UFC 205, which delivered in every way on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York. The organization’s return to the state after more than 20 years was topped by just the second champion vs. champion fight in company history, and it was featherweight champ Conor McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) who reigned supreme when he beat lightweight titleholder Eddie Alvarez (28-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) by second-round knockout to add a second belt to his collection. Although McGregor has a knack for making history, his latest octagon masterpiece ranks above all, and he set several records that can never be broken. “The Notorious” wasn’t the only one to etch his name in the record books, though.
