UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko proved why she was a large betting favorite at UFC 255 on Saturday, but challenger Jennifer Maia had kept her honest along the way. On average across major online sportsbooks, Shevchenko’s line closed as a -1586 (nearly a 16-to-1 favorite). Shevchenko (19-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) went on to defeat Maia (18-6-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
