UBERLANDIA, Brazil – Judging by the way Warlley Alves blitzed Alan Jouban in the opening moments of this bout, it didn’t seem like he was planning on going the distance. Thanks to the resiliency of Jouban (10-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC), he was forced to. Somehow, Alves (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) even managed to win a unanimous decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) despite spending much of the last half of the fight either getting punched or stumbling away in exhaustion. The welterweight bout was the co-main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 56 event at Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
