Fighting in front of his home crowd in his native Louisiana, Poirier (18-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC) tore right through a tough Yancy Medeiros (11-3 MMA, 2-3 UFC) for a first-round TKO in front of many family members and friends. Then he called for a big fight and said he plans on fighting for the lightweight title before the year is out.
