NEW ORLEANS – The powerful kicks of Omari Akhmedov  were enough to cause an injury to the knee of Brian Ebersole  in Round 1, forcing Ebersole to retire on the stool in their UFC Fight Night 68 bout. The welterweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 68 event at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX Sports 1. Akhmedov (15-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) opened the fight with a hard kick to the body, landing right to the side of Ebersole’s trademark “hairrow.” Ebersole (51-17-1 MMA, 4-3 UFC) moved back to distance and tried to use his own range-finding kicks but Akhmedov uncorked yet another heavy kick to the body
