Tony Ferguson SAN DIEGO – In a wild, bloody fight that saw him nearly put Josh Thomson away several times and in several different ways, Tony Ferguson was forced to settle for a unanimous-decision victory after a dominant performance. Despite dropping Thomson (20-8 MMA, 3-4 UFC), splitting his head open with elbows, and nearly twisting his arm off, Ferguson (19-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) just couldn’t put him away, instead leaving it up to the judges, who gave it to him via scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 30-26. The lightweight bout co-headlined today’s UFC Fight Night 71 event at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.
