Filed under: News , UFC , Videos SAN DIEGO – Tony Ferguson put the lightweight division on notice after slicing up and decisioning Josh Thomson at UFC Fight Night 71. Ferguson (19-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) was able to outstrike Thomson (20-8 MMA, 3-4 UFC) over the course of three rounds, opening multiple cuts and systematically breaking down the former Strikeforce champion. By the end of the fight, the white on both fighters’ shorts was red with blood – all of it Thomson’s. The official scorecards read 30-27, 30-27 and 30-26, all for Ferguson. The lightweight bout was the co-main event of the card at today’s UFC Fight Night 71 event at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.
