Erik Perez MONTERREY, Mexico – Taylor Lapilus didn’t make Erik Perez ’s homecoming an easy one. But despite being dropped and nearly submitted, Perez (15-6 MMA, 5-2 UFC) rallied late and put his ground game to work against a fading Lapilus (10-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC), and in the end the judges rewarded his efforts with a unanimous decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) The bantamweight bout closed out the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 78 event at Monterrey Arena in Monterrey, Mexico. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX Sports 1
