Luke Sanders BOSTON – Just moments after looking like he might fall prey to a Maximo Blanco choke, Luke Sanders turned the tables in swift, stunning fashion for a first-round victory. After dropping Blanco (12-7-1 MMA, 4-4 UFC) with a left hand, Sanders (11-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) pounced on his fallen foe and sunk the rear-naked choke to force the submission at the 3:38 mark of Round 1. The featherweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 81 event at TD Garden in Boston. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX Sports 1. For Sanders, the win marked a quick turnaround in a brief, though eventful fight. After tagging Blanco with several hard counter-punches early on, Sanders soon found himself in trouble after being taken down by the wily Blanco.
