LAS VEGAS – Diego Rivas spent almost the entire first round just barely surviving Noad Lahat ’s many submission attempts on the mat. Then, just seconds into the second frame, a jumping knee from Rivas (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) rendered all that work meaningless, as Lahat (9-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) was left stiff and unconscious on the mat, and Rivas had himself a vicious knockout victory just 23 seconds into Round 2. The featherweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 82 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following additional prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX Sports 1. Though things ended well for Rivas, they certainly didn’t start that way. It wasn’t long into the opening frame before Lahat secured his first takedown and immediately moved to full mount in pursuit of a guillotine choke from the top position
