OTTAWA, Canada – It didn’t come easy, but after wearing Thibault Gouti down over the course of three rounds, Olivier Aubin-Mercier finally got the finish. After a first round that saw both men stunned by strikes, Aubin-Mercier (8-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) held on and forced a submission from Gouti (11-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) with rear-naked at the 2:28 mark of Round 3. The lightweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 89 event at The Arena at TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass.
