NEWARK, N.J. – For a fight that was a year in the making, the match-up between Tarec Saffiedine and Jake Ellenberger seemed a bit past its expiration date by the time the two made it into the cage together. But after three close rounds of sometimes sporadic action Saffiedine (16-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) took the win over a game Ellenberger (30-11 MMA, 9-7 UFC) via unanimous decision, with scores of 29-28 across the board. The welterweight bout closed out today’s UFC on FOX 18 preliminary card at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. It aired on FOX Sports 1 after early prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of a main card on FOX
