Sound like one of those ones that has the proverbial “fight of the night written all over it,” even if right now it’s a bit of a long shot? McGregor (16-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) on Sunday headlines UFC Fight Night 59 in a featherweight bout against Dennis Siver (22-9 MMA, 11-6 UFC). In the co-feature, Cerrone (25-6 MMA, 13-3 UFC) takes on Benson Henderson (21-4 MMA 9-2 UFC) in a key lightweight bout. A win for McGregor is likely to see him get the next shot at featherweight champion Jose Aldo later this year. But the brash Irishman has not been shy about saying he eventually wants to fight at lightweight, as well – and hold a belt there, too.
