UFC Fight Night 71 may have flown under the radar due to the hangover from UFC 189, but the end result was a main card filled with entertaining and meaningful results. In the main event, Frank Mir (18-9 MMA, 16-9 UFC) proved once again that there’s still life in his decorated career when he uncorked a huge left hand on Todd Duffee ’s (9-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) chin that ultimately led to a first-round knockout win at San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center. Mir’s victory concluded a FOX Sports 1-televised event that saw breakout performances from Tony Ferguson (19-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC), Holly Holm (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC), Manny Gamburyan (15-9 MMA, 6-7 UFC), Kevin Lee (11-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) and Alan Jouban (12-3 MMA, 3-1 UFC).
