If UFC 151 is to be remembered as the event that Jon Jones and Greg Jackson “murdered,” then let UFC 179 have a more positive distinction: the event that Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes resurrected from the dead. After an anesthetizing undercard followed by a co-main event that felt like watching someone drown in slow motion, the featherweights in Saturday’s main event seemed to know exactly what was required of them. A good fight wouldn’t have been good enough to save this one
