HALIFAX –  Albert Tumenov cared little for the height and reach advantage of Matt Dwyer , dropping the UFC newcomer with a pair of high kicks to earn a quick TKO. Tumenov (14-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) picked up his second straight UFC win in spectacular fashion against Dwyer (7-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) as referee Dan Miragliotta was forced to intervene at the 1:03 mark of the first round. The welterweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 54 event at Halifax Metro Centre in Nova Scotia, Canada. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 2 and a main card on FOX Sports 1. It wasn’t long before Tumenov demonstrated his ability to get inside on Dwyer, landing a thumping right hand. The Russian fighter followed up quickly, capitalizing on Dwyer’s lowered hands with a left high kick that caught him in the temple.
