PITTSBURGH – Sean Strickland was on track to win a comfortable decision by using length to his advantage against fireplug Alex Garcia . But after proving himself capable of rejecting takedown attempts, Strickland (17-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) stung Garcia (13-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and swarmed until a punch sealed the deal late in the third round. The welterweight bout closed out the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 83 event at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
